    Apeks DS4 vs Tek3?

I know Scubapro are another option, but I like Apeks, (albeit based on little experience of other makes).

Do the Tek3's do anything the DS4's don't? I'll be using the standard gue hose configuration. Is the hose run compromised using the DS4's or notably improved by using the Tek3's?

    They cost twice as much.

DS4 routing for GUE configuration is good enough for the huge number of GUE divers that use them, and they are bulletproof. If you REALLY want the best routing then look at Halcyon regs or scubapro Mk25s, but be prepared for the cost...

Yes, the Tek3 is a little sweeter in terms of routing for a twinset, but they are horrible if you need to put a single tank rig together. The service kit is the same, and the breathe is very similar so you pay twice as much money for the same performance and less flexibility, just to get better routing that isn't a problem in the first place...

Whilst I haven't used tek3 s myself I don't think there is a vast improvement. Certainly not for the cost.

The other two main options are the Subapro as have end port. Or Apeks DSTs to which an end port could be added.

Or just stick with DS4s which are fine :)

DS4 - realiable, cheap and decent hose routing

Lots on here use them ... for very good reason
