Little one spent 82mins on the containers at NDAC today without moaning about the cold.

She managed to back-fin a few lengths of them which was brilliant. Our plan was to practice that and she grasped it early on. Still work to do (much like my own finning), but a brilliant start.

Also practiced some heli-turns which are really improving.

Tried to catch her with an OOG signal too but she didn’t hesitate to donate.

Still lots to do, but I might try her off the south coast at some point later this year.

Maybe you need a Twitter account to see it?

Nice bit of casual racism there BTW

Just gone for a number three all over, feels nice, not sure about the aesthetics though.

I did the same earliest but braved grade 3 back and sides with a (bad) attempt at blending to grade 5 on top. It’s a bit sloppy but better than the mop!!

Can we go diving now? Even if at least some shore diving.

It’s a sport. We have to drive there. We can dive alone or with members of our social group. Dunno about boat diving though.

Alas, just in time for the May Rot to remove all visibility. At least it’s diving.

I had my daughter do mine. She started on the top - when most of that was off she commenced the sides......just as the battery started to tail off. Just about managed a 3 all over below it died! Exciting times!

    Tickets?

Some of the dive boats are now running under reduced loading & social distancing rules. Thank goodness the weather’s nice. Lovely to get back in the water again.

The restrictions are perfectly clear on this.

Dive boats should not be running, no ambiguity there at all. None.

What makes divers so special that they can flout the rules?

It is the word 'should' that is being translated to 'can'. The boat I am aware of is in Poole. None of the boats around Weymouth and Portland are operating. I suspect any insurance claim by an operator going against advice might fail.

I feel for the skippers who aren't earning and the divers who aren't diving (and earlier in the lock-down the riders who weren't riding, myself included) but the sense of entitlement displayed (not just on diving forums) beggars belief. Anyone asking if this loophole or that loophole means it's actually OK to do the thing they want to do knows deep down that it isn't but is looking for validation from their peer group. If you really must go against government advice, do it quietly, don't broadcast your actions for all and sundry to witness; it just pisses of the people who aren't prepared to flout the rules.

Agreed. The local club is debating whether to go out.

I'm grateful I have a beach just over 2 miles away (there is one nearer but there are many steps) and I can at least go a blow a few bubbles and look at the 'wrecks' and wildlife

That photo's so much nicer than Newhaven...

Anyway, some skippers interpret it as meaning a yacht charter, etc. Not a ferry service. Running with full social distancing measures, risk assessments, masks, gloves, no access to cabins, etc. Common sense really.

As for the rules... Yeah, wotever. Just follow Cummins' lead, or BLM, or any other mob. The reality is that the lockdown's over, except for schools, etc.

Curious about your riding point? Cycling's never been banned as it's exercise. Same with walking. Obviously you can't go to Derbyshire or the celtic nations.

Aaaaand that's exactly the entitled attitude I'm talking about. Looking for loopholes or interpreting the rules to suit yourself.

Those skippers are wrong and while I hope no one catches CV-19, even twats like that, I hope you all get caught and fined.

Riding wasn't banned but travelling to ride was. To ride the sort of terrain that gets me out of bed on a weekend requires driving. I didn't do it, even though I'm pretty sure I could have got away with it.

Thanks. So nice to see the destruction of our economy and social fabric's still alive and well despite the infection levels reducing - in some locations - to workable levels.

The reality is the lockdown's finished - the numbers of people mixing together, particularly the young, are as high as ever. Of course the parents of school children are prevented from working as they need to home-school their kids.

What's left is a bankrupt country facing the biggest depression - in all meanings - in modern history.
