My suit was shagged today so would’ve had to bin the dive, but the skipper leant me his which was a good enough fit to enable me to get wet.

Few trim issues (very very floaty legs), but it was nice to get in.

Also had to run a distance line out for the first time in anger, as some so and so wanted to do an extra 10mins on the wreck so it was a shot line ascent.

Managed to get another 10 minutes dive time today :)

Couple of firsts... my first "should" return to shot for ascent, therefore vital to reel off the shot, amazingly another first for me. A line makes it a hell of a lot easier for a buddy pair in poorish vis and a (small) current,

    Will do this again.

Did I understand correctly - ten minutes dive time?

I think the key word there was ‘another’. :)

Edit: I can see how the use of ‘today’ led to confusion.

It was going to be 60 mins, but managed to get it extended to 70 mins, but on the condition that we returned to the shot.

TBH this seems like a good thing to do as you can see more by laying and following a line.

AHA... I thought you were extolling the benefits of open-circuit no-deco air diving.

No deco... nope, you've beaten me there.

Had a nice 55 mins on the bottom with 10 mins chugging on O2 whilst hanging on the shot -- being thrown around like a rag doll!

I absolutley cannot afford any more kit - black or otherwise...

which is a bugger as I really need a new Apeks reg and 1st stage (the reg would of course be black....)

Just bought another ATX40 for a deco stage; £65 new. Don't think the DS4's are that expensive, possibly sub £100 -- sure I've seen a DS4+ATX40 combo for £150.

    Need a bigger garage...

After about two years, I am officially a BSAC dive leader from today. Now going to sell my soul doing the OWIC course and instructor exams. I must be mad.

Cyprus booked for two weeks from next Wednesday and I've found a dive centre where I hope to finish off my BSAC Sports Diver, awaiting their response.

Put my repaired suit heater cable through it's paces in Wraysbury at 4 degrees. Worked and no flooding.

Many thanks to Deep Ideas for getting the cable shipped to me promptly and for their advice.

Just about set off to the marina in playa Blanca, Lanzarote for my first dives of the week. Tomorrow, my 13 year old daughter is doing a DSD in the morning then we are off to the museo atlantico together in the afternoon.

The water is about 16degC and I've got a 5mm wetsuit and a rash vest. Beginning to wish I'd brought my drysuit!

This is the sort of Monday morning I can cope with. No trouble getting out of bed today!
