I'd have stolen it myself it I'd known what the reward was going to be...
We jumped in from the middle of the pontoon, by the unused ramp, dropped down and headed towards the plane. Didn't make it much past the drop to 22m as I had a cell die so we turned round, ascended and surface swum back to the same point on the pontoon.
Great day at work today. Ops manager completely fucked up the turnover projections for my department to the tune of £25k a month. Announced today that "we" need to come up with ideas to increase revenue or reduce overheads otherwise there will be redundancies.
And of course the redundancies never start with the PHB with the inability to calculate....
(PHB - Dilbert)
I know who PHB is, my last boss actually looked like him as well as acting like him.
It's my head on the chopping block; I earn the most and have the least time in by about 5 years so I'm cheapest to lay off.
It's all about management bonuses. If you don't get the parameters right, you can really screw up a business. And if you don't get your targets right, you risk losing the people who you want to keep. I spent most of my career in a group head office working on the numbers and saw the good, the bad and the ugly.
I hate being right all the time.
Bugger, good luck.
All sympathies, hopefully you get a decent pay off (or at least gardening leave) and now have the time to find something closer to your family.
Oh dear, hopefully you'll not be out of work long.
Soz , fingers crossed
Feck. Commiserations, etc.
At least you can move home; fun for a while working away, but gets tiresome in the end.
Thanks, but I won't hold my breath. They have a reputation for paying the absolute minimum and making people work to the last minute.
Mate, try and stay positive.... as you know, i went through this last year, and I didn't believe it when everyone kept telling me that it'd work itself out.... but you know what, they were right.... I'm not financially better off than i was, but my work, life balance is 100 x better... and 6 months into my new job, i wouldn't swap back to my old job you paid me to....
I know it's tough mate, but hang on in there, stay positive and you just might end up in a better position than you are now! I feel for you buddy...
May be worth getting some help if they are known as aggressive to leavers. Are you a member of a union or professional body? Otherwise, worth a free hour with a lawyer at the Citizens Advice Bureau. Stating the obvious, but as far as possible keep the relationship with the current company on an even keel - getting pissed off with them will not help you find the next job.
Well that's shit. Chin up mate.
Wet testing my shiny new fitted Kubi system today.... I wasn't impressed when my wet test proved them to be wet! Grrrr And whilst kitting up I also managed to tear a hole in my drysuit.... Not my finest Sunday!!! Suit has gone back to Otter to take another look at the Kubi's and hopefully repair my tear too.... on the positive side, Mrs me was happy I was home early! LOL
