Call for interest in diving off of Selsey. Make it a day for Open Water qualified people and above. Lots of interesting diving in shallower depths.

How about the last weekend in June?

Check the tides as well, June has some nasty springs.
If you are doing the pier it's best 4 hours before HW Selsey.

Last weekend June is pretty neapy, but HW Selsey is 2038 on the Saturday 27th according to VisitMyHarbour.
So with Tel's advice about the pier that would be 1630 in the water. If we aim to get there for 0900, we probably wouldn't be ready in time.:woot:

More seriously, the Mulberries/Pontoon look interesting, and I could be up for that. A nice bit of lightweight single cylinder stuff.

So, which day - Sat 27th or Sun 28th June?

    Boat or beach (or both)?

Just to OW level (shallow 10ish metres) or AOW (to 30 metres)?

Any other new divers would like to declare their interest? We could probably help out on some missing kit if necessary. Would buddy you up with appropriately experienced divers.

Trouble is that the boat goes from East Beach and the pier is further along,
so you need transfer time between sites.

If you do the Saturday, no spaces left on the deeper dive, so it would be
Buffers (10m) which is at 10.00 and then hit the pier at 16.30. This does make
it a POW/BSAC Ocean day, max 10m, but will have a pretty long surface interval.

Go Sunday and can do the Shirala 25m (have 8 spaces) at 13.15, which puts it in AOW
territory and need to be at the pier for 17.30, so that gives just enough time between the
    two.

Personally i'd just go for the beach on the Saturday at 16.30. Rock up about
1400 onwards have a leisurely setup and chat, then get kit by a breakwater
and be ready to go at 1600 and in the water a tad early. Should get a good
hour in the water and be back in the pub (which is very close) by about 1900 :)

Can't say that far ahead as we will still be doing training, so boat no, but maybe the
pier as could factor that in and do rescue stuff on the beach as well, off-slack :)

Gutted, got all excited for a moment, as the 27th actually falls on a day when i'm not working for once.... and then unfortunately noticed i'm already booked for taking the daughter on a Uni visit as one of her potential options.... not exactly something i can get out of! Gutted :(

I'm pretty much booked until then. The previous weekend's the London to Brighton bike ride, we've a couple of Plymouth weekends in May & June, and I'm hoping to sail around to Plymouth in May. So it's the only weekend I can do. But if the consensus is for another weekend...

However, there's often the chance of sneaking a cheeky dive in:)
