Sad to see a business being broken up and especially one which had a descent reputation.

Some great stuff there; could be some bargains! Interesting variety of items - shows the size of their stock.

Can you set a maximum bid on BidSpotter and leave it to bid for you?

Unfortunately, that was earned by the previous owner, the current owners seem somewhat less deserving of that reputation...

They may seem like bargains, but check the T&C's which state

"A Buyers Premium of 15% will be added to all winning bids, Buyer Premium charges are not negotiable.

VAT on buyers premium is payable even if goods are exported."

So add 38% to your max bid as that's what you'll be paying at the end.....

    B

and be aware of who is going to be doing the warranty work on any kit purchased....

In addition to some pretty awkward terms for getting it off there site, the way its written you'd need to get a courier collect the stuff loose, pack it then bring it to you.

Why is that useful? The bidding is online and collection from Leyland. Leyland is a bit further north than Manchester (nr Preston)

Is that near Milton Keynes? That's north that is.

Gosh, I've just looked at a map. There are places north of Manchester that isn't Scotland!

The buyers premium and collection restrictions mean that I am out and I'm only other side of the pennies.

I saw that a new shop "Dive Manchester" opened this weekend. They might be buying up some of the old stock for the new shop.

(is there a "tongue in cheek" smiley?)

Nah, they hid all the good stuff before the receivers were called in. I have it on good authority that certain premium suppliers were given advance warning to collect their stuff so Dive Manchester could open accounts with them with the minimum of fuss...
