    You sure?

The Mk17 s600 is a Scubapro, not Aqualung.

Nothing wrong with it - in fact it's a good choice.

Personally (like many on here)I'd have opted for an Apeks DS4 and ATX40 which you can pick up new for less than £200 (against the nearly £100 more I'm guessing you paid for the Scubapro kit).

In fact, Sam at Just Apeks is advertising a DS4 with 2 x ATX40 for less than £250 delivered and you may get an even better deal if you phone and ask ;)

They're great regs for UK diving - and warmer waters. The Mk17 is (I believe) the sealed version of the Mk25 which is a very respected regulator. As @Tel said, they're Scubapro (aren't they owned/distributed by Aqualung?).

    Good choice though.

Nah - Aqualung own Apeks and Scubapro own Uwatec.

Mk17 is a diaphragm first stage and mk25 is a piston design, quite different designs doing the same job.

Interesting animation of the Mk25 & Mk17 first stages
