Without wanting getting into a debate around the efficacy of PADI training ...

I want to do the PADI 'Rescue Diver' course and a pre-requisite is completion of the 'Emergency First Response' course or equivalent recognised/approved course.

PADI cost for EFR is around £150 but I would rather go to local St John's Ambulance for the EFR.

Does anyone know what the equivalent St John's Ambulance course(s) would be to cover the EFR scope, and whether such course(s) are recognised/approved by PADI please?

    Good question.

Mine was included with the Rescue Diver course fee.

Best bet would be to ask your PADI instructor what is acceptable, I’d have thought that St Johns should be ok
