During the coming 15 months we're heading out around Europe to discover some of the diving our continent has to offer. We want to promote more regional diving since diving in Europe has gotten an unfair reputation of being boring.

We know from our own experience that Europe has diving of world class and we want to show that to more people to see.

Our journey will take us through 24 countries and we're going to show different ecosystems and their habitants, highlight environmental questions and dive on historical wrecks (and less historical ones).
There will be something for everyone!

Try to get up to Scotland. Lots of superb diving up there. Orkney and Scapa are world class locations.

We're heading for the Uk now in July. We have planned to dive around Dorset, St Abbs, Farne Island, Isle of Coll and around Scotland. Do you have any tips of good dive sites? Wrecks, marine life, ecosystems, we're interested in everything!

We are planning to visit Scotland this July. On our list we have Isle of Coll for basking sharks. We are planning to dive in some lochs around Scotland. Sadly we can not go for the Scapa flow since we have our dogs with us and it's all liveboard if I have not missed anything? Do you have any specific tips of good dive sites? Wrecks, marine life, ecosystems, we're interested in everything!

Portland Dorset has all sorts, some nice wrecks out of there, especially to the west.

Farne islands has seals, not a whole lot else but worthwhile.

We are in a curious COVID state at the moment with some places not operating as normal but for Dorset diving you might want to check out some of these sites:

Maybe. When I get my Inspo back from AP I'll see what there is. Currently, Skindeep aren't using their boats for diving and Wey Chieftain isn't operating. Scimitar and Sea Leopard are starting up and I have Fearless available.

Diving in the Sound of Mull is excellent. There's shore diving available too. Happy to recommend Puffin Divers out of Oban. They sell gas and have a great dive shop. I believe they do day boats, but do check with them. There's a few other dive boats around that area..

At the other end of the country, Dover's a good location too. Can recommend Maveric. Due to the proximity to the busiest shipping lane in Europe/World/whatever, the dives tend to be down and up the shot. Loads of wrecks there though!

As Jason said, Weymouth & Portland are good. Same for Swanage. Think both will be rather busy this year though. Several dive boats go out of Plymouth. Aquanauts are nice.

Have not heard that much about diving around Dover so will look into that. Sound of Mull is also interesting!

Dover's a nice day out and a place you'd probably pass through. Phenomenal number of wrecks around there -- Brexit's just part of a long history of the UK disagreeing with her neighbours!

Scapa is NOT ALL liveboard, the last time I went up we stayed in a hostel right by the harbour and had a day boat for the week and did all the main dives.

Hi Mattias we stayed at the Hamnavoe Hostel, 10 North End Road, Stromness Orkney KW 16 3AG. Lockable rooms and warm and comfy you 2 will have a bunk room to yourselves. Right by the Boat mooring, dived from the dive boat MV Jean Elane.

We dived the following sites plus a few less memorable ones:

    COLN 36M - DRESDEN 38M - BRUMMER 36M - KARLSRUHE 26M - KRONPRINZ WILHELM 39M - KONIG 40M - MARKGRAF 46M - BAYERN TURRRETS 38M

I personally would do the same again on my next return visit as I don`t really like the other boats diving styles.

A small point about Scapa Flow is it's pretty sheltered, so not too sensitive to strong winds (kind of the point of the national deep-water naval anchorage!)
