Car packed* ready for a 0530 start to Scrabster for another month or so in Scapa.

If anyone is up there during September, drop by the Huskyan (or the Ferry Inn) and say hello.

    * not much dive kit as most of that's already up there.

Surely you're old enough to retire, like me?

Not a day goes by without thinking about chucking it all in and doing the things on the bucket list...

Aug & Sept is ridiculously busy at 'work'; hate watching these diving opportunities pass by as the cold weather looms in.

Maybe I should see if there's a cheeky week I could book up.

Have a good trip... pity you don't do photography as some of the rarely seen places you visit in the wrecks would be worth recording.

I sometimes think of doing that trip again and look at the 734 mile journey to Scrabster and then the idea passes...

    I don’t think it’s necessarily a GUE trip

I was there last September in one of the few weeks not lost to COVID and it was awesome. Huskyan is a great dive boat. I’d be curious to know if everything had opened up again, as when we were there all of the islands tourist stuff was closed as were most of the shops and pubs. I wasn’t sure it was because of restrictions per se, but more because no-one was going there…

Stromness is very busy with tourists now.
Things are pretty normal here, with the obvious restrictions still in place regarding numbers in pubs etc. The Ferry and Royal are both open. The Flattie is still closed but that’s due to a change in ownership of the Stromness Hotel and future plans for the building are still a mystery.
The weather up here continues to be very nice.

I’ll let you know after I dive on Monday but I suspect it’ll be around 13c. Rarely gets warmer than that.
