I spent a very enjoyable day yesterday learning how to help whales dolphins and seals in trouble. What to do, and how and when to try and refloat them after a stranding. The course was great fun learnt loads and we tried out all the techniques on life sized models. If you live near a seal colony, or you are a regular visitor to the coast or just want to know a bit more about how a rescue works then have a look, http://www.bdmlr.org.uk/.

Sounds like good fun, and useful too (although perhaps not so much for me as I live in the Midlands...maybe I could use their techniques on sheep though....;) )

Although I am a bit inland most parts of the south coast are within an hour. But as im often at the coast and in cornwall in the winter months It may be useful. Still lots of fun

Hmm. New information to me, very interesting.

Dubious it's worth me taking the course, I live far from the sea, and haven't dived in UK waters in 15+ years.

That said, looks like a cause worth supporting.

    Cheers Harry

Only if you've got a very big freezer or you like it pickled.
