    C'mon man, spill the beans. I'm teetering on the brink of buying a classic with a fucked handset for £700...

    The tedious thing is that the hoses I'm waiting for should really have arrived last week in time for the weekend when I had an understanding and patient CCR diver available who also needed to weight check his new unit. Now I'm at the mercy of DiveLife and his diary :'(

    That sucks. I ordered from DL on the understanding the part was in stock and would be shipped in time for the UKD weekend. It actually shipped on the Monday after the meet...
    I sometimes wonder if the magic hasn't gone out of it for Brett, there seem to be more and more reports of poor service.

    Because it was "just a couple of hoses" I didn't bother ordering through him, wish I had now... at least he'd hopefully be in contact.

    That's the plan, but it needs a new solenoid too and it's not on the AP website, so I've got some more research to do.

    If you bought the whole head I'm sure it comes with a solenoid

    How much and why would I need to be brave? See how little I know about modding these things? :eek:

    I'll ask him and let you know. You would need to buy a "blank" head to put everything and tbh its a whole lot of dicking around when there's a ready made solution out there.
    I just checked the av1 website and it does have a solenoid...

    eCCR AV1 controller has all the dive computer functions:
    – PO2 control up to 3 oxygen cells;
    – contains a solenoid control block providing preset setpoint level support with +/- 0.05 bar accuracy in automatic mode;

    Cool, thanks for that. The AV1c with head seems the obvious choice, but I'm a sucker for punishment so I'm still interested in the SW.

    Why can't you fit it in the stock head?
