I've made a booking on the Newhaven hard boat Sea-Zones.
    Plan is Meet 11:45
    Ropes Off 12:30
Dive Wreck of the Lalen Mendi on LW slack (Max depth 28m)
Surface interval and drift dive on the way back in
    Return to Marina 6:15 approx

    £40 for two dives.

If you want to come along, I'll need a £10 deposit to confirm the place. Usual rules: you say, you pay.

    1. Chris (furryman) Paid in Full

I'm gonna say yes. Will get permission later.
Minus273 we can get you to that depth by then. A bit of bsac style depth progression. Or do AOW but it will not teach you much.

There's plenty of other opportunities from Newhaven! There's several boats that go out of there and an active dive shop with a couple of RIBs. The dive shop tends to not arrange their trips until much closer to the dates. I'm sure we could sort some other dates out - would be nice to get a batch of places arranged.

Let's hope the vis is better this year than last...

The boat is open for booking Saturday atm. I could put it on a reserve booking for a couple of weeks to see if we get more takers.
That weekend is spot on neaps, so should give us a number of opportunities. Including a couple of grotty shore dives! Alternatively nip along the coast and pick up one of the Brighton/Eastbourne boats.

Web-shite here; http://sea-zones.tripod.com/ it's showing the Saturday as free. Unfortunately, it's the day after my lad's birthday so I won't be able to get away that weekend.

    Any more takers from UKD?
I will open it up to other "groups" after this weekend.

Lalen Mendi last year was teeming with crunchy things to eat, as well as being rusty.

That's potentially three of us, then.

Anyone else? Once we get four (a half-boat), I will contact the skipper and put a hold on the Saturday.

BTW I had a chat with my local dive shop who have a rib out of Newhaven; they don't seem to book that early so have plenty of spaces available. It is a rib and most people are single cylinder Rec divers. So it's a possibility if we're stuck.

Well I for one welcome our diving overlords.

I'm looking forwards to it. So much so that I've booked on the Nyon on Newhaven Scuba's RIB for 11:00 the previous day.
