    Hi all

Just started diving last June, Open water, PPB and Underwater Nav so far.

Can't wait to progress this season, off to O Three for for a drysuit measure up next month. During the season goping to train with a drysuit and then advanced open water. Maybe a bit confident, already put my deposit for a trip to Farne Islands in September.

Bucket lists at the moment diving with Whale sharks and diving the Silfra

What part of the country are you in?

    Welcome to the forum :)

Diving's a great pastime and highly addictive. Diving in the UK has its issues, but is very rewarding. Drysuits are pretty much essential kit in the UK, especially if you want to extend your season. They're easy enough to get used to, but you'll need to practice in less than 10 metres to nail the buoyancy issues. Drift dives are great for this.

I strongly suggest big pockets with velcro flaps if possible. You can stash a load of crap in there for your dives.

Welcome Graysyid - good plan to separate dry suit training from AOW; I tried to do them together, which didn't work. Not sure about buying a suit before you start training though, although getting one that fits you while you are training is pure luck. Be prepared to have setbacks, most of us have been there.

    Hi graysid, welcome.

Both your items are also on my bucket list, but be prepared for that bucket list to keep growing.

Good luck with the courses, you'll have fun.

My dive centre don't have their own drysuits to use for training and advised that getting my own suit first would be best. Off to O'three the week after next to get a measure up, get the pool training done early and then I can always pop it back down if I have any issues before doing the open water at stoney. That's the plan anyway.
