Yay - I got one of them - flooded at three metres in Mexico.
Took all the shiny stuff off the reflector, but it still works!

Hi guys Ive had an email from Darren at the NDAC who tells me that as of yesterday it they have only received 10 applications.

So come on one and all get your registrations completed and sent to NDAC and dont forget those that are raising money through the official sponsorship can claim back there £10 entry fee from your collected sponsorship money

I am doing but finding where the hell my cheque book has gone might take some time, It's only underwater ironing and certain south coast skippers that still work with cheques these days!

In addition whilst I can see why there is a £10 deposit when compared with Scuba Santa's it's a little off putting!

    Elvis,
The idea of the event has always to raise cash for a charity
    However
If you read the T&C's on the Sponsorship form you can if you wish claim back your entry money through the sponsorship monies collected. it is also the entrance fee to the NDAC.

BUT if you are a tight ar$e

IIR NDAC are also donating a % of the taking of that day

Well given I drove down to Vobster from Manchester and paid to stayed overnight and paid the entrance fee for Scuba Santas, and will be doing the same again for underwater ironing I think being accused of being a tight ar$e is to be frank fucking insulting and taking the piss!

You were complaining above that you only received 10 applications as of the 12th, how many registrations did Scuba Santas at a comparable stage, have that didn't have these road humps to registration?

Elvis Congratulation on taking part in the Scuba Santa although what relevance that has to the Extreme Ironing TBH is beyond me.

Should you choose to stay overnight to attend any dive site is entirely your decision.

I certainly did not feel it needed an over night stay for the 1st one and even this time I shall be driving there and back in the same day

    Alex,
The idea of a sponsor form is that its hand written and the individual can choose if they wish to ti9ck the box on the gift aid thus enabling the HMRC to drop the taxation. How hard is it TBH to write your name & address on a form :)

I would also say that the £10 IS THE USUAL ENTRANCE FEE IF YOU ARE A MEMBER if not then its £15.
so NDAC are not charging none members anymore than members

I hope that clears things up

Should be about nine of us from my club in Dartford.

Did a checkout dive at Holborough today, rigging kit worked well (thanks for previous advice AG), godlike trim :)oops:), plenty of interest from the other divers there (should have taken my sponsor form!) but goodness me it was undignified getting out afterwards!!

I'm over Cromhall on Sunday with Welshflinty and Divebuddy323. Myself and Flinty have registered. I'll see if we can get DB to register too.

My wife's looking forward to her new iron and ironing board, the old ones will be in the van with me on Sunday for my "dry run"!

Might look (and feel), a bit stupid on Sunday, but I don't really care! ;)

It is with much regret that
We have reluctantly taken the decision to postpone it until later in the year.

There will be an announcement on the NDAC website, to the effect that we will not be going ahead on 3rd April. Instead, we will launch another attempt for 1st October. Those who couldn't come on mothers day can come on 1st October. If you have registered, you will automatically be registered for 1 October.
We have been exchanging emails with the others involved in organising this, and thus so far, the registration has been disappointing, to say the least. We currently do not have sufficient divers committed to the event to make is feasible at the moment.
We are extremely sorry to have to postpone it, but under the circumstances, we didn't really have much choice.
