Is anyone going to EuroTek 2018 in Brimingham on 1st + 2nd December?

Looks like some very interesting talks. Has anyone been to previous years?

How many simultaneous talks are there? They say there’s 40 talks over the weekend, I’d imagine that there’s at least two or three concurrent talks?

4 at the same time & they’re not repeated. Some sessions there’s none your bothered about, others there’s 2 or 3!

    Typical conference!

My wife’s thinking of coming along. Should be enough for a non-diver too — all the tales of expeditions, etc.

...and an exhibition where all the prices of dive kit are available

I’ll be there for the whole weekend, as I have for the past 5 shows

I missed 2010 and 2014 due to being deployed overseas. I’ll also have a +1 with me this year (baby in a carrier).

    This.

This is my issue. If you are lucky it works, if you aren't it can be very frustrating.

I don't think I will be going this year, unless I'm at an especially loose end.

    Well, it's almost upon us.

I'm driving down with two of the speakers who are currently here in Scapa and we'll be arriving tomorrow evening, assuming the Scrabster ferry is running in the morning :wideyed:

Hopefully I'll be in the main hotel bar from around 9 or 10pm.

Absolutely brilliant weekend of some fantastic presentations on a wide range of topics. Thoroughly enjoyed all of it.

The undoubted highlight was the Thai cave rescue presentation which included a Q&A with all 12 members of the cave rescue team. Something that will stay with me forever.

My non-diving wife also attended and also thoroughly enjoyed it.

Cannot recommend it highly enough. Will definitely go to the next one in two years time.
