Much as I would love to go on JB's Komodo trip, the dates don't work for me. However I do want to do a liveaboard this year, and have settled on a return trip to Egypt with Red Sea Explorers on mv Tala. I have submitted a booking request for 21st-28th July for my self and my son, and it would be brilliant if we could get a bigger UKD contingent. This would be a revivification of an ancient UKD tradition... Have a look on ancient threads: http://ukdivers.com/threads/annual-red-sea-explorers-trip-mv-tala-6th-july-2012.11403/ and http://ukdivers.com/threads/red-sea-explorers-mv-tala-1st-july-2011.9489/ http://ukdivers.com/threads/mv-tala-2011.10701/ and http://ukdivers.com/threads/red-sea-explorers-mv-tala-2010.4611/ http://ukdivers.com/threads/mv-tala-july-2010.8135/ and http://ukdivers.com/threads/ukd-tala-trip-6-13-july-2009.4513/ for an idea of some of the hi-jinks. Costs at the moment: Boat is €915 and flights out of Gatwick to Hurghada on Easyjet are around £700. So not cheap, but this is one of the best tec/rec boats out there, run by a crazy guy who does some serious diving (120metres on RB, caves, monkey diving, free diving and undewater maintenance on the Red Sea Wrecks ). https://www.redseaexplorers.com/media And Tala has scooters!
