Doing a DiveMASTER...

    It's a 50/50 grade.

    You've got 2 week wonders with barely any dives who scrape through and get awarded the cert and
    chances of using it professionally zero and then you've got some real stars that are often asked to
    become interns as they've proved themselves to be competent.

    Trouble is that even Divemasters who are in-training are still referred to as DM's even if it;s the first day
    as to not upset the punters. Like all divers the standards are extremely variable so I wouldn't label all
    DM's bad. I look on all divers as having at the very least done the skillset applied to that grade once and
    anything past that has to be proven :)
