anyone fancy giving this a go?
On Mike’s boat (Sussexshipwrecks). @MV Sussex
I would if I was in the country.
Am pondering... Bloody weather though.
As an aside, a couple or three us are going to NDAC this Saturday 28th Oct. Standard stuff: stand around in a wet car park faffing; staying too long in the cafe chewing the cud; do a couple of late dives....
Pondering wearing some sidemount kit for people to rip the piss.
You don't need sidemount for that Glenn. Most of us do it anyway.
Sussexshipwrecks are showing it as 1030 ropes off and 8 spaces available. +drift dive.
24 metres max depth. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Oceana_(1887) Not sure what's left of her, but at least it'll be a rusty reef.
Hmm, prospect of some salt juices on the kit...
Are you booked on this @furryman? What's your dive profile going to be like? 75 mins bottom time + 9 mins deco (or 24 mins on backgas) looks quite reasonable.
I haven’t booked yet.
An hour or so in the slack on the trimix mixing machine with not very many stops on the way up was in my mind.
As well as a pasty.
Trimix.... there's your problem! Air dil's what you want...
Memories of one of the last occasions we went out where we were late in (problems finding the wreck) so the tide was roaring away when I did that Mary Poppins impression hanging under the blob.
Personally I'm not that bothered about a drift as it's normally crap vis inshore around Beachy Head. But happy to oblige.
ANYWAY @Wibble ... are you interested? Windguru suggesting 3s/4s W-NW for Sunday.
Or would you rather be certain of a dive at NDAC?
NDAC will only be one dive though as their kicking out time is 2:30
Is there some event on? Their normal 'winter' last bus time is 16:00
Definitely not driving 6 hours and 330 miles for one steenkiiing dive in a puddle!
Oh joy. Diving times at NDAC due to them taking part in a largely American secular event:
• Fri 27th Oct – 8:30 – 2:30
• Sat 28th Oct – 7:00 – 2:30
• Sun 29th Oct – 7:00 – 2:30
All dates – The last bus will be 1:30pm, divers must be out of the water by 2:30pm and the site must be cleared by 3:30pm by all members of the public.
Are they closed for Thanksgiving and Labor day too?
Sunday it is then. Have sent a booking request to firstname.lastname@example.org
Now canned the idea of NDAC on Saturday.
@Tribal Chestnut & me to meet at Wraysbury on Saturday 28th. Others welcome to join in frolicking in the lake.
Thanks for letting us know @jb2cool. Much appreciated to know before we wasted a day driving over there. Hopefully other people found out before they went.
@Wibble : Mike has just texted back - trip full.
He hasn't read his emails yet, so you're not on either.
If the Sergeant Major thinks there's money to be made it's only a matter of time...
Pity the website's not up to date. Showing loads of spaces available.
Wonder if Steve's got any places available. Dave & Sylvie called it a day on this season last month - think they've cleared off abroad!
Steve's full on Sunday. Doing the Moldavia too; apparently the organisers have just filled their last two spaces.
Dive125's site's offline.
Brighton Diver's doing wind farm trips "been very slow for diving this year"
Sea Zones has also just filled his last two spaces for Saturday.
Any other thoughts?
Dave n sylv (dive125) are down under in Oz at the moment.
Swanage? There is usually something going on whether it be with Swanage boat charters or divers down
