skindeep has their shuttle list up for next year, Portlanddivecharters. Some good looking dives on there. Midweek stuff too.

After the disappointing response this year, and previous years, they've included less of the deep offshore stuff. As they are running a business, not a service for divers, cancelling due to lack of numbers (rather than weather) is loss of income when they might have gone out to a shallower wreck.

I booked nine weekday dives with them this year. Of those one actually happened, two were cancelled due to weather whilst all the others lacked numbers to make the plan viable.

I'd booked two of them after you'd mentioned it earlier this year, both binned due to weather. (And one of them binned on the day where I managed to transfer to another local boat)

Yeah, saw that. Shame the weather was unkind when mostly this year it was good.

I’ll take a look. Need to get some booked up - though I am away in January and have an op in Feb that takes me out until March... hopefully the spring and summer will have been plenty of opportunities to get wet!

Might be up for one of those. Should be able to spend some proper time on them next year. :)

I've picked some wreck to do over 6 days with Scimitar in 2019. They're on the website and anyone can book on them. They include the Delight and the Meknes, which will doubtless get blown out.

Sell them all , this keep your twin set stuff is a waste of time. Ally deco/stage cylinders will do for bailout gas.

You'll soon be on a SF2 for a bailout rebreather.

Twinset makes a good diluent bank. Probably all they are good for really :D

Steel works but ali cylinders are better for bailout, although those expensive carbon fibre bottles do carry a lot of gas!

Single tanks are useful for topping suit bottles, driving the booster, and the mad moments when Chesil seems a good idea!
Single 12s also work well as an oxygen bank.

Seen a guy with a pair of 10 litre 300 bar carbon cylinders for bailout. A thing of beauty and exceedingly light, lift them with an outstretched arm. But... he has to attach lead to them to dive because they're so floaty!!

Yep, it might be the same guy. If it is they are pumped to more than 300 bar! The need for lead does rather ruin the benefit.

Don’t the carbon tanks have a significantly shorter lifespan? Or is that not now the case? Even if it was no longer an issue, can’t imagine I’d be able to happily drop them so much.

They've a fixed lifespan AFAIAA - 10 years? They're also expensive. And fragile.

    But lovely and light.

Thinking of a Revo diver who's got them.
