yes it was a Bournemouth airport.... i was told about it when i asked if they heard of any issues with dive kit..
i remember hearing a story of an officer trying to confiscate regs off a diver.. claiming he could strangle someone. luckily the supervisor...

i do know that knifes in hold ARE allowed but some security have confiscated.. IF bag gets flagged up by the automated xray system

dont carry a big knife in the hold luggage as some over zealous officer might confiscate it
if the xray operator cant see its regs then yes they will search the bag
acvording to Thomson website you get a 5k cabin bag and laptop must fit inside and a seperate handbag is not allowed and yet ive been told that...
im in the water every week..sometimes i get 4 dives per week..dependant on my shifts but usually 2 dives every 8 days or so
im a security officer at my local airport and regs are not a problem to carry in hand luggage.they are allowed.
