First Dived about 1970 with Stafford Sub-Aqua Club (independent Club, AFAIK no longer exists)
Founder member of North Staffs Poly Diving club. (Google finds no sign of that one either). Abrupt end to academic career due to excessive time spent diving in North Wales, ended that phase of my diving history.
Joined Snow hill SAC (SAA club 88) around 78. Made Club Diver, saw a lot more of North Wales. House modification project and birth of a daughter scuppered that phase.
Returned to Snowhill in the early 90's and just about made it to Dive Leader. Dived in Ireland, the channel, as well as the inevitable Welsh coast. Divorce, and the resulting turmoil, and diagnosis of diabetes (mild type 2) rang down the curtain on that phase, though I did do some dives in Sri Lanka that have probably spoiled me for UK diving.
Present Partner and I did PADI Open Water in late 2006 in the Maldives, and a very nice series of dives in the Dominican Republic in February this year.
Booked EFR in the UK in the next month, working through PADI advanced open water in preperaion for a course in Malta in May.
Still have my "UK" gear its even in test, but I doubt I will raise the energy to use it.
