How many dives?
I may be barking up the wrong tree, I've been told that I can become a master diver after 20 dives is that right?
I'm doing my AOW this weekend then next week on monday Deep, wednesday Search and recovery. and next weekend rescue. I've been yaping to my local shop, I might go on to do my DM after that. I have 7 at the moment. I was yaping to badknees and Phil about a technical diving, I think i might have a go at that in the near future. The equipment looks cool! Bubble maker with ambition! If you could....You would! |

RE: How many dives?
Crikey, you're keen. Master Scuba Diver is AoW+Rescue+5 Specialties... If you can get that after 20 dives then that would be pretty good going!!!
You might like to think about getting some experience... There's a lot more to diving than courses! Most tech diving courses I have looked at have 50-100 dives as a MINIMUM entry requirement, and even then its still subject to experience. Usually you have to have a certain number with nitrox, a certain number of deep dives (say 30m) etc. Technical diving is a pretty serious business! The good news is that the experience is the fun part - diving different locations with different people, seeing new marine life, wrecks, scenery underwater... That's what it's all about!!! Good luck with all the training.... Ian |

RE: How many dives?
How can you master anything after 20 goes at it?
Training is OK but I think time and experience should be built into the equasion. I would not have been happy when I started diving to go on dives led by Dive Leaders or Instructors etc. that had flown through the training process. I am OW, have 40+ dives and am in no rush to get to my AOW (must do it this year though ). I dive for divings sake and enjoy it! |
