First UK boat dive
Following last months frst UK dive, I went for a glug from a rib off Littlehampton yesterday.
Thanks to the patience of our DM Phil, five of us had two really good dives in viz no better than 4 metres. Temperature was good - 15c at 12 metres - and the sea was like a sheet of glass. Sooo smooth. I had a few moments difficulty getting my bouyancy right on the first dive, over a wreck called Iona. Not much left of that old tub, but we saw some large conga eel hiding under the hull plates. The second dive was on Sharks Tooth Reef off of Bognor. Really murky, but saw the most enourmous lobster. No joke, it was over a mter long and tried to pick a fight with us. Still can't understand why so many UK divers refuse to dive 'at home' |

RE: First UK boat dive
I have to admit that sea/boat diving is a step i am probably not ready to take yet..i am just getting use to small quarry's at the minute and the thought of the big blue ocean scares the pants off me..

RE: First UK boat dive
Deano - we went from a RIB called Copperhead 2 arranged by Scubadoo's in Croydon. The skipper Shaun is a really top bloke.
Jason - I suspect I am one of the 'newest' divers on here. 13 logged now, 7 of them boat dives. The DMs and buddies you go with are the important elements of the dive, plus of course the sea has a lot more 'real' stuff at the bottom - the massive lobster being an example. |
