All right, I acted impetuously like a fool last week and now have my tail between the legs. You guys will all probably snigger and nudge each other to say "I told you so", but please understand that there was a reason for my rather stupid (with hindsight) knee-jerk reaction. The forum change came at a very bad time for me; besides sharing information and chatting, I also use the UKD forums to relieve stress of day to day life and I'd been having plenty of that lately. I had just heard that a close friend in India had a serious accident (recovering now), we had a staffing crisis at work and an expensive near-crisis at home when our garage got flooded in the recent rains threatening to ruin a newly installed central heating boiler unit. I was angry and frustrated when I logged on that day and Dave's post telling us about the forum change was the last straw. I had to take my frustration out on something or somebody and in a moment of madness, left the forum which I really really enjoy. Call it a streak of sadomasochism, if you like, but I apologise for my actions and request to be allowe back as before.

PS: I have been secretly peering at some of the posts in the new forum and it seems fine.

Gee, Thanks. I was missing the exchanges and cursing myself for my own stupidity. I have braced myself for any lighthearted sledging that might come my way for the next few days.

You didn't miss that much. The first few days were pretty much the resident muppets acting like a bunch of kids on a bouncy castle... They spent most of the time running around seeing what they could and couldn't get away with - things are settling down again now so it's nice to see you posting again. The door's always open!
